Artist's Description

A vintage speedboat, with the number C-251 painted on its side, cuts through the water, while a figure in a trench coat thoughtfully observes from the foreground. Above, three men stand next to large circular devices, possibly gauges or controls, reminiscent of early 20th-century scientific instrumentation. The top header announces "Popular Science" and the date August 1931, with an inset teaser stating, "Speedboats race standing still," directing the reader to page 54 for the article.
